Be inspired for 2021!
2020 has been a challenging year for everyone. Nonetheless, the challenges did inspire many of us to get out of our comfort zone, learn, and try new things. We’ve seen people coming together in a way we haven’t before, we’ve seen resilience, courage, and growth.
One subject that seemed to dominate this year is health and wellness. We’ve learned the benefit of taking care of our immune systems and creating a healthy personal care regimen. Let’s review a few things we learned about taking care of ourselves in 2020 and hope to bring with us in the New Year!
One thing we learned in 2020 is how important it is to take care of ourselves from keeping a healthy immune system to eating a proper diet.
If our immune system isn’t working properly, it can create a lot of issues such as being more susceptible to infection and illness. We’ve learned smoking, drinking alcohol, lack of sleep, and poor nutrition can all negatively affect our immune system.
Eating a proper diet is not only economical but good for you too. We learned about the benefits of seasonal eating for your health and your wallet. To learn more, take a look at our article here.
For 2021, don’t forget to slow down and take a moment for yourself every once in a while and practice a little self-care.
LONGER LASTING FOOD
Grocery shopping became a whole new experience in 2020. To adhere to social distancing and stay safe, some of us turned to shopping at local outdoor farmers markets, buying groceries online, growing our own food, or a combination of all of the above. Because of the change in how we shop for products, we predict we’ll see more shelf stabilized products emerge. Why? Most people want to limit their trips to the grocery store to prevent themselves from getting sick. Therefore, people are reaching for more shelf stabilized products that last longer than other foods such as canned goods, grains like dry past and rice, milk alternatives, and dehydrated or freeze-dried fruits and vegetables.
Fun fact: KABAKI Purple Tea is shelf stable, tastes great, and has immunity boosting antioxidants!
The common theme of 2020: stress. We all felt it in some way, shape, or form. Stress can bring on a myriad of issues such as poor sleeping and eating habits, a weakened immune system, and struggles with mental health. With the dramatic changes to our everyday life in 2020, we saw more people struggle with mental health issues such as depression and anxiety. Although we’re getting closer, we’re still not out of the woods so for 202, it’s important to continue working on ways to de-stress.
There are several ways to de-stress but one we think will become more popular in 2021, is meditation. If you’re looking for ways to get started with meditation, there are some great online resources you can find here.
COMFORT ABOVE ALL
In 2020, we saw fashion shift from function to comfort. Gone are the days of jeans, dress shirts, and heals. In 2021, we expect to see more comfort clothes such as sweatpants, stylish loungewear sets, and sweaters that look stylish in our Zoom meetings but keep us comfortable.
No matter what trends occur in 2021, above all else we hope you have a healthy and even happier new year. We spent this year surviving, next year is about building ourselves back up!
